Sarah has had a love affair with music her whole life. She can often be heard humming and singing along with her favorite songs on the radio. Sarah tried traditional lessons as a young girl but it wasn't a lot of fun. She changed to violin and has played for 30+ years.
Simply Music has been a God-send! Sarah has been able to return to her first love the piano and now she is learning all the secrets of accompaniment so she can sing "and play" her favorite songs. She has also learned that she can compose her own music which is really gratifying.
Sarah lives with her husband Chris and four sons in West Omaha.
Classes Offered
Shared classes offered Monday & Tuesday evenings at Rockbrook Plaza inside Laurie's Music Studio. Free Introductory Sessions offered by appointment.

I have been so impressed with the Simply Music program! Both my 7 year old daughter and my 10 year old son have been playing for 3 months now, and they are learning lots of music that is fun to play. I remember playing the piano when I was a child and it years before I was exposed to some of the music that they are already learning about. Without having to worry about reading all of the music right away, they are playing chords, flats & sharps and notes high and low on the staff (which they don’t realize yet since they aren’t “reading” the music). Within 4 weeks they started played a blues song and were even introduced to the concept of the 12-bar blues!
This program constantly has them practicing their old songs so that they can always sit down and play several songs, not just the one they are working on that week! They are encouraged to play around with the songs and to see how they can change the sounds by using a couple different notes. This class encourages kids to explore the piano and enjoy making music, instead of just learning to play the piano.
Sarah is good about moving along at the pace that the kids need. She has different variations to songs that she can give to students that are moving at a faster pace. She is always positive with the kids. My son says that taking piano lessons with Sarah is great and fun! My daughter says that the music is fun to play and Sarah makes the classes fun too!
